Review + Giveaway :: Eat! Move! Play!

Because Weight Watchers is awesome and because I am one lucky mama, the kind folks at the WW office sent me over one of their newest books, called Eat! Move! Play! I’ve spent the past few weeks reading through the book (I’m a slow reader and only find five minutes at a time to absorb any printed word), and have found it to be chock full of great tips for motivating your kiddos to stay active and eat healthy, as well as for how

Weighing In: Crashing Under Chaos

I promised a bathing suit shot, and here it is. As much as I wanted to go with one more angled and concealing, I’ve decided to buck up and give the full-on, real-deal view.

{ big deep breath }

here it is, as promised. the bathing suit shot. aaaahhhh!

We’ve been back from our beach vacation for about a week now, and I had so been looking forward to settling in to some food normalcy, but when we arrived home, we learned that our floor refinishing project that was supposed to be completed

Weighing In: Silly Jen, Vacation is Not Your Enemy

We are on vacation. Sean, me, the iToddler, my parents, Sean’s parents and some friends of ours, all in a big ole beach house in Waves, NC. It’s beautiful and relaxing and hot and perfect.

And it’s chock full of snack food. Goldfish crackers, graham crackers, hunks of cheese, Oreos, some random My Little Pony fruit snacks, Veggies Straws, donuts, muffins…

Oh my!

um, yeah, i know this is sideways. my laptop has no way to rotate it. ha!

I need to confess, I was projecting quite a bit of hypocritical energy around. Poor

Weighing In: Blizzards, Bras and Bathing Suits

Something tells me my pastor is not going to appreciate seeing that headline come up in his news feed on Facebook.

But it got your attention, right?

{ inserting nodding crowd here }

To my guy readers…this may or may not get uncomfortable for you, just under the Facebook screenshot. Consider yourselves warned.

Today marks my 8th weigh-in. That’s 7 weeks on the Weight Watchers Online program (don’t worry about the math, it’s right, just trust me). I’ve had good weeks and not so good weeks. So far, I count my lucky stars

Weighing In: When Life Gets Crazy

I promised pictures, but I don’t have any to share in this post. Why? Well things have been busy…downright chaotic, actually, in this household.

Sean works in retail management and had his annual inventory this week. Of course last week was munchkin’s first birthday and we had lots of family in from out of town. Tomorrow I have to take a day trip to Philly on business — nothing like seeing the same airports twice in one day.

How does that relate to pictures? Well frankly, we haven’t been home much and I’ve

I Made a Huge Life-Altering Mistake

Okay, maybe that’s being a bit dramatic, but I can tell you that to me this is huge.

Why?

Well, for one, I led you astray because I was wrong.

About powdered peanut butter.

Remember this stuff?

I reviewed it and was very meh about it, primarily because I didn’t like the portion sizes. But guess what.

I read the directions wrong. All wrong. And I realized it this morning.

So please head back over to the new, revised post and see what I have to say. I’ll call out the updates somehow,

Weekend Rewind :: 7.25.2010

It’s Sunday and it’s close enough to my desired bedtime that I have to make some decisions. Laundry, fold diapers, write, play Angry Birds?

I can probably only fit in two of the four. Guess you know what one of them is.

In preparation for and early celebration of this one’s first birthday next Saturday, I plan to keep a pretty low profile this week. After all, I have three-hundred fifty some-odd days to reflect on, and these things take time:

In the meantime, here are a few random thoughts from another

Weighing In: Everybody Survived

Yesterday marked the end of Sean’s week one on the Weight Watchers for Men program, and the end of our first week on the program together.

We survived. Nobody got hurt.
This is significant.

See, Sean is a 215-pound guy (well, WAS), and I am a 143-pound woman. Because of the obvious differences, the fine statisticians and dietitians at WW felt it was appropriate to create a calculation that grants us very different amounts of daily POINTS.

So Sean has 36 a day.

And I have 25.

Every single day last week, Sean would come home and

PB2 :: Review

A friend of mine was recently raving on Facebook about her new discovery: PB2. She mentioned that it was pricey, but delicious and at only 45 calories a serving, totally worth the price tag. I filed that status update away in my brain under “things that make ya go hmmmm,” and went on my merry way.

Weighing In: A Family Affair

Today was my third weigh-in on the Weight Watchers Online program and I didn’t lose so much as an ounce. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
And I’m okay with it.
